Burnout and overload are rarely only individual problems. They often result from work culture and work organization, communication patterns, financial pressure, an overload of tasks, and limited resources.

As the Culture Shock Foundation, for over a dozen years we have been working with activists, leaders, educators, and teams from the social and cultural sectors. So far, several hundred teams and thousands of individuals in Poland and across Europe have taken part in our workshops, coaching processes, tools, and development activities.

Our offer is addressed to organizations, institutions, and management teams looking for effective ways to strengthen teams and people working within them, and to prevent burnout systemically. We work locally and internationally, in person, online, and in hybrid formats.

Benefits of working with us

We strengthen and develop the potential of institutions and organizations through activities that build the capacity of the people working within them, as well as through practical solutions that improve processes, communication, and cooperation inside organizations.

This translates into greater resilience and agency among teams, lower staff turnover, better organization of management work, and greater financial stability.

„It was a really good session. I felt the partnership throughout the process. For me, it was a great demonstration of the coaching approach on practice."

Forms of engagement

We propose activities that may include:

  • diagnosis of the organization’s needs and challenges
  • workshops
  • supervision
  • individual and team coaching
  • consultations for people in leadership and management roles
  • development and organizational improvement processes
  • educational activities

Our experience shows that the best results come from a process-based approach: combining diagnosis, developmental work, and implementation recommendations.

How do we work?

We begin with a conversation and a diagnosis of the context. We look at what the team’s everyday work looks like, what places the greatest burden on the people working there, what already works, and where change is needed.

In our work, we follow several principles:

First, we listen

We get to know the needs, resources, and limitations of the team or organization.

We work with concrete examples

We refer to real tensions, decisions, fatigue, communication, and tasks.

We combine knowledge with practice

We draw on knowledge about burnout, stress, resilience, communication, teamwork, and new technologies.

We look at the whole picture

We take into account the body, emotions, relationships, pace of work, resources, and the conditions in which teams and organizations operate.

We use plain language

We make it easier to name difficulties so that the team can talk about them openly and respectfully.

We look for solutions that can actually be implemented

We select activities adapted to the situation, time, energy of the team, and the character of the organization.

Our methods and tools

We use original tools, including REFLOW, which makes it possible to identify the risk of burnout among individuals and teams. For years, we have been developing and adapting existing methods to the needs of the social and cultural sectors.

We work using:

methods that strengthen co-presence, trust, and the group process
/group coaching, facilitation, supportive mentoring, NVC/
somatic methods that strengthen nervous system regulation and regeneration
/wellbeing micro-practices, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, breathwork, grounding/
creative methods and experiential learning
/improv theatre, storytelling, creative writing, collage, dragon dreaming/
design tools and co-creation methods
/design thinking, empathy map, journey map, prototyping, co-design/

„What really helped me was the variety of blocks offered: theoretical concept, questions for reflection, body work, practical case studies, reminded me of how important it is to take a holistic approach to work and personal professional development."

Benefits of cooperation

Depending on the organization’s needs, we strengthen its capacity to:

  • identify sources of overload and burnout risk
  • improve communication and cooperation within the team
  • strengthen people in leadership and management roles
  • build the wellbeing of people working in the organization
  • organize cooperation principles and everyday processes
  • increase the resilience, agency, and stability of the team, organization, and institution

Our approach

Would you like to receive an offer tailored to the needs of your organization or team?

We combine experience in working with social organizations and cultural institutions with knowledge about burnout, resilience, communication, technology, and change processes.

We do not focus only on strengthening individual resilience. We also make it possible to see what is worth changing in the way an organization works, so that people and teams do not have to constantly operate beyond their limits.
