Let it work

A support program for the third sector

Let it Work was a multi-dimensional support program for third-sector organizations and activists, delivered by our Foundation between 2021 and 2024. Through an online platform, we provided educational materials and practical tools addressing organizational culture challenges (management, communication, and mental wellbeing) that increase burnout risk.

About the initiative

We aimed our activities at NGOs and those related to them, especially entities from smaller centers working with disadvantaged target groups: LGBTQ+ community, women, seniors, people with disabilities/refugee and migration background and environmental activists.

The project laid the foundations for a healthy work culture in the third sector – it counteracted burnout and enhanced cooperation between organizations so that they can endure and grow in the future.

Activities

The main element of the project was an online platform where we gathered webinars, podcasts, articles and document templates. They serve as educational materials and specific tools to enhance organizations’ institutional development and support activists who work in emotionally exhausting conditions.

We worked on three levels: individual, organizational and sector-wide, raising awareness of burnout, wellbeing and safety for activists.

Culture Shock Foundation
Since 2010, we have been strengthening the position of Polish and European civil society organizations and cultural institutions by enhancing efficiency in burnout prevention, the ethical use of technology, digital solutions, and leadership development. We also offer customized support through workshops, coaching, and self-assessment tools.

Fundacja Rozwoju „Dobre Życie” (“Good Life” Development Foundation)
The foundation runs activities focused on developing personal, social, and civic competencies as well as fostering intergenerational and intercultural integration. They combine knowledge of working with groups, constructing workshops and projects using methods such as drama, music, dance, and other art forms. As part of the project, they designed and delivered the course on mental toughness and social effectiveness based on the MTQ48 questionnaire.

Paulina Jędrzejewska
