About

Burnout Aid is a portal about burnout and restoring balance, created by the Culture Shock Foundation for activists and leaders. We combine scientific knowledge, research, and psychoeducational practice with the everyday experiences of people working in civic and social organizations, culture, and aid sectors, especially women. We work based on a burnout model developed by our team of experts, which shows this phenomenon as the result of relationships and collusions within the system—from individuals to institutions and global factors.

What makes us stand out?

What makes us stand out is that we combine methods, concepts, and tools drawn from psychology, sociology, cultural animation, social theories, and art therapy innovatively - by shaping new contexts, such as using the concept of collusions (psychology of relationships) or the ROSE model (support for people with cancer) in working with burnout. In our projects, e.g. Mokuteki and Oxygen, we cooperate with experts from various countries representing different professions: researchers, practitioners and tool designers. Thanks to this diversity and exchange of experiences, a new standard emerges - an approach that is based on expertise, rooted in practice, and open to the ever-changing world.

What to expect?

BurnoutAid is a space where we combine knowledge, support, and practical tools. We cover the topics of professional burnout, mental resilience, health, relationships, and everyday crises. We share checklists, articles, podcasts, and exercises that enable you to foster a healthier work culture - both individually and in a team.

This autumn (2025), we will release a tool to assess the risk of burnout - for yourself or across your entire organization.

In the meantime, we invite you to sign up for our Newsletter and check out our Services subpage where we describe forms of support we offer.
