This Privacy Policy outlines the rules for the processing of personal data by the Culture Shock Foundation (referred to as the ‘Controller’, but also ‘we’, ‘our’ etc. in this policy) in connection with the use of websites: www.cultureshock.pl and www.burnout-aid.eu, as well as the services offered by the Controller. The Controller makes every effort to protect Users' privacy under applicable regulations, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (the ‘GDPR’).

3. Definitions

  • The 'Controller' is the Culture Shock Foundation.
  • 'Personal data' means information relating to an identifiable natural person, including IP address, location data, online identifiers and data collected by cookies.
  • The 'Partners' are entities that cooperate with the Controller in the organisation of events.
  • 'Processing' means operations performed on personal data, such as collection, storage, sharing and deletion.
  • The 'Policy' is our Privacy Policy.
  • The 'GDPR' is Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016.
  • The 'Website' refers to the websites available at: www.cultureshock.pl and www.burnout-aid.eu.

  • The 'Events' are courses, training sessions and other online activities that the Controller organises.

We process personal data to:

  • analyse statistics using Google Analytics (Article 6(1), point (f) of the GDPR),
  • run a newsletter as well as promotional and recruitment activities (Article 6(1), points (b) and (f) of the GDPR),
  • assert claims (Article 6(1), point (f) of the GDPR),
  • promote our activities on social media (Article 6(1), point (f) of the GDPR),
  • as well as for administrative, promotional and statistical purposes.

When you visit the burnout-aid.eu Website, we collect aggregated data, such as how many times our Website was viewed, which pages and subpages were visited and how much time was spent on the Website. The User cannot be identified based on this data.

5. Cookies

The cultureshock.pl and burnout-aid.eu Websites use cookies to improve the quality of our services. Cookies are IT data, in particular text files, stored on your device to enable or facilitate the use of the Website. Some data collected through cookies may be considered Personal data under the GDPR.

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC) to analyse website traffic.

6. Newsletter

You can voluntarily subscribe to the newsletter by providing your e-mail address.

We share your data only with entities that provide newsletter distribution services at the request of the Foundation.

We process your data in connection with your activity on our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Spotify profiles.
 Legal basis: legitimate interest of the Controller (Article 6(1), point (f) of the GDPR).

Users are also subject to the privacy policies of these sites.

8. Data recipients

  • We may share your data with:
  • IT and analytical service providers,
  • public authorities in accordance with the law,
  • donors and partners only in the form of aggregated, anonymised data.

We do not transfer your data to third parties for marketing purposes.

9. User rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data,
  • have it rectified or deleted,
  • restrict how it is processed,
  • transfer it to another party,
  • object to its processing.

10. Data retention period

We store your data until:

  • you withdraw your consent,
  • you raise a valid objection.

11. Transfer of data to third countries

In exceptional cases, we may transfer your data outside the European Economic Area, e.g. when our Partners are based there.

12. Changes to the Policy

We reserve the right to make changes to this Policy. We will publish the updated version on our Website.
